Beginner Karate

Dates: August 31st - December 14th

Thursdays 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Saturdays 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Sundays   2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Students will learn the fundamentals of traditional Japanese Karate in a positive and focused environment. Each athlete will develop the basic skills of self-defense, situational awareness and multi-sport core skills. The Continuing/Intermediate Karate class will focus on developing more advanced Karate, Judo and Jiu-Jitsu skills in conjunction with an introduction to elite level Kumite (sparring) as based on the precepts of the U.S. Olympic Committee Training Center.

Intermediate Karate

Dates: August 29th - December 14th

The Intermediate Karate Program (Samurai) will expand each student’s fundamentals of Traditional Japanese Karate as well as the basics of Japanese Judo (throwing and falling).Students will begin to learn the fundamentals of Kumite (sparring) and have an opportunity to participate in regional competitions. Continued focus in developing strong multi-sport fundamentals (speed, timing, agility, coordination and core body strength) as well as applied self-defense skills within an environment of focus and self-discipline. The class will be taught by Sensei Loren Mendoza and Sensei Jack Pressman.

Advanced Karate 

Dates: August 22nd - December 14th

Tuesday 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM  

Friday 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM  

Sunday 2:45 PM - 4:15 PM

The class allows continuing students to advance their skills and knowledge in karate. We bring a program that teaches advanced kata and full contact Olympic style sparring.  In addition to karate, the program also enrolls the student into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.


Sensei Jack Pressman has been a practitioner of Traditional Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MuayThai Kick Boxing for over 40 years. Sensei Pressman is the former Captain and Vice Chairman of The USA National Karate Team as sanctioned under the USOC. 

Sensei Loren has been a practitioner of Karate for the past 20 years. She has earned multiple awards in Karate including local, regional and national honors.
